Hello @max_man

There are a few key differences between mindfulness meditation and transcendental meditation. Mindfulness meditation typically involves focusing on the breath or on specific thoughts or sensations, while transcendental meditation involves repeating a mantra (a word or phrase) over and over again.

Transcendental meditation is thought to be more effective than mindfulness meditation because it allows you to completely clear your mind of all thoughts and distractions. This can be difficult to do with mindfulness meditation, which is why it's often recommended that you start with mindful meditation and then move on to transcendental meditation once you have learned how to focus your attention.

Mindful meditation is a form of Vipassana or Insight Meditation that was popularized in the West by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Its primary focus is on the breath and on being completely present in the moment.

Transcendental Meditation (TM) was developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and is based on the practice of mantra meditation. The goal of TM is to achieve a state of deep relaxation and to experience inner peace.

The key difference between mindfulness meditation and transcendental meditation is that the goal of transcendental meditation is to go beyond or transcend the thinking mind, whereas the goal of mindfulness meditation is to become more aware of one's thoughts and sensations without getting caught up in them.

With mindfulness meditation, you focus on your breath or on a mantra (a word or phrase that you repeat to yourself), and you gently let your thoughts come and go without judging them. The idea is to observe your thoughts and feelings without getting attached to them.
