How to start transcendental meditation?
There are a few things to keep in mind when beginning transcendental meditation (TM). First, it is important to find a comfortable, quiet place to sit or recline in. You may want to sit in a chair with your back straight and your eyes closed, or you may want to lie down on your back with your eyes open. It is important that you be comfortable and relaxed, but not asleep. Second, you will need to focus on something basic and repetitive, such as your breath or a mantra. The goal is not to think about anything else or Empty Your Mind but rather to let the thoughts come and go without engaging with them.
Hello @Martin_S,
The first step to starting transcendental meditation is finding a quiet, comfortable place to sit or recline. You may want to close your eyes during the meditation, but it is not necessary. Once you are settled, you will need to focus your attention on something that will help you to drift off into a meditative state. This can be anything from your breath or a mantra (a word or phrase that you repeat mentally) that you slowly chant to yourself.
It is important not to focus too hard on the chosen object of attention, but rather let your mind stay gently focused while still allowing wandering thoughts to drift in and out.
