What is the recommended technique for Transcendental Meditation?
There is no one recommended technique for Transcendental Meditation. The TM technique is unique to each person and the teacher will give you your own personal mantra (a specific sound or vibration to focus on during meditation). Once you have been given your mantra, it is important to keep it secret and not share it with anyone else.
The recommended technique for Transcendental Meditation is to sit comfortably with your eyes closed, relax your body and mind, and repeat a mantra (a sound or word) for 20 minutes twice a day.
The mantra chosen for you by your teacher will be based on your personal needs and goals. It's important to keep your mind focused on the mantra during meditation, but not to strain or concentrate too hard. Just let the mantra flow through you and allow yourself to relax into it.
